My computer all of a sudden had "100 percent CPU usage" even when idle.
When I view the proccesses they are always changing and new ones popping up.
I also have internet eraser pro, and it will clean up over 600 megs of temp files when my computer is just on, not even surfing and idle for like 1 hour.
I have ran ad-aware, spybot, and full norton Anti-Virus 2004 scan, updated.
Any ideas, short of reformatting?

Have you rebooted the system? The operation system can sometimes play tricks on you.

Do you have an internal PCI or external USB modem?

Try updating drivers. Contact the manufacturers.

AND ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTONS!

EDIT: I'll explain myself: I'm a modem tech. I've seen this before. but also, there could be other devices/drivers stuffing around with your software. Do WindowsUpdate as well.

Check your windows task manager for extra programs that may be running. You can type in all the programs running into google and do a search and it would tell you if it's a virus/trojan/spyware program.
