Took our daughter to the zoo today and lucked into seeing the jaguar rouse up, stalk some prey and capture a squirrel that had wandered into its enclosure. I've included the final shot from the set but the rest can be viewed here.
Lighting and colors were difficult due to midday sun and strong shadows with the jaguar's fur pattern.

Great shots. Were they done with the 70-200L IS? The bokeh in a couple shots has that "IS" look I've come to know & "love".

Yeah, the 70-200. I figured with 2.8 at that distance the depth of the field of focus would be great enough to get a decent shot of the cat's whole body.

Awesome! It's so neat to see their natural instincts have not dulled and they still can capture prey.
That one shot almost looks like the squirrel might be saying, "Okay, we put on a good show, time to let me go until the next one."

Here is a picture of a squirrel that came dashing throughour yard a few days ago no time for set up just get what you can |

Probably the first - and last - jaguar that squirrel ever saw. |
