I am new to LR3 (lots of CS5 photoshop and bridge experience and trying LR3 to see if it will help my workflow more than bridge)
I imported my raw files from a shoot on saturday, did all my editing in LR3 on all but 2 images which needed more work in photoshop. I saved my 2 edited images at full res and I want to import them back into LR3 so I can a)use the publish and b) so I know there is an edited final version of the raw file.
When I click Import and choose the folder where I saved the 2 jpeg's (the same folder with all the raw files) the grid view only shows the raw files and not the jpeg's ... any idea what I am doing wrong? |

let me address the workflow first. if you want to use PS on a file, you need to check your External Editing preferences (on the main menu: Edit | Preferences) to make sure they are correct. then all you have to do is simply right-click on an image and select Edit In. make sure the checkbox Stack with Original is checked. set the What to Edit radio button to whatever is appropriate for your situation. click Edit to pull the image into PS. when you're done in in PS, save your work and toggle back to LR. there you will find both your original, and a PSD.
as for why you are not finding your jpegs, you need to make sure you pay attention to all the options in the Import Photos dialog to make sure they are actually coming in.
if it's not too much trouble, you might want to simply re-edit them, using the workflow steps outlined above. |

thanks skip .... I can't seem to find stack with original though ... checked under the external editing options, but can't see it ... I re edited the shot and saved as a tiff and now the image automatically appears next to the raw so I guess the fact I saved as a jpeg is what went wrong.
Can't see any filtering options when importing, but not needed now as I've got the tiff instead |

| looking at the library view it has already stacked them together so I assume it does that automatically as long as I save as per the settings in external editing ... in this case it's set to tiff |
