I want to enter this in a local "events" competition, Is it worth it.

I love it - great composition and good lighting, conjures up the whole 'eclipse' experience very well.

I'd say enter it, what have you got to lose?

I like it too. The wideangle perspective is fun, and the scene conveys what is happening.

Oh, yes! Spot-on editing for this particular image. For many images, that would be seriously overcooked, but it's just right here.

Agreed, this edit has much better pop, but I think someone suggested editing out the wooden pole on the left, and I would second that; it adds nothing and pulls the eye out of the frame.

I cannot, this is running under what would be basic rules in DPC.
