The exclusive open challenges have different types of editing this week.
One is Basic and the other Advanced. Usually both challenges have the same editing type. |

Clouds tend not to worry about zits and other imperfections as much as portrait subjects do :)

yes, but you can only see them at night. so if you take a portrait of the cloud at night you can photoshop them out. |

That too.
I think that's how it was but got changed because of too many submissions.
It would seem a good time to get rid of that rule since participation is down lately. |

Nope. Originally there was one Sunday Challenge for members and one Tuesday Open Challenge for all, every week. The Opens were starting to go 4-500 entries every week, they demanded an extreme voting commitment. So the powers-that-be created the Exclusive Open Challenges.
If anything changes due to lower participation, it would logically be to go back to one Open Challenge a week :-(
