I just opened one of my photos in voting to read a new comment and the lower section of the photo has been replaced by a grey rectangle. I thought it might just have loaded badly, but refreshing the page, restarting windows explorer and even restarting my computer have not corrected this. What's more the recent comment talks about a too tight crop. I'm really worried my photo may have been corrupted and it may affect what (for me) is a decent score.
I don't know if anything can be done about this now, but I'm not happy. |

No, it's in the wildlife challenge. |

Oh, I didn't see any that looked corrupted in that challenge. If it was the other one I'd have said yes. LOL! |

I'll go run them through at full size and see what I find. |

Just ran through, every image completely loaded. Maybe it's just your computer for whatever reason. |

Wow, that was quick. My internet is quite slow, so I expected it to take much longer. Don't know how to get my computer to show it right though. I tried downloading Firefox to check it, but when I tried running the download it said it was corrupt. I don't know if I downloaded from the wrong place or if my Internet is just being very wierd.
Edit: forgot to say thanks.

Mine runs pretty quick! LOL! Have you tried actually restarting your computer? That usually works. And you're welcome! |

Yes, I tried that. I really expected it to work, but no such luck! |

I finished voting wildlife and all the pics are fine! It sounds as if it is timing out cos the internet is slow! |

It's not actually slow enough to time out and the rest of the page is okay - just the picture has a grey section about the bottom quarter of the picture. My other challenge photo is loading okay. |

I've gone through them all again as well and don't see any problems. You are still seeing the grey field? Weird. But no one else is, so don't fret about its presentation.

Thanks. I'm not stressed about the photo anymore, but I am worried about my computer's strange behaviour.

Try clearing your browser cache or/and do a forced-refresh on the applicable page. If the photo did not download completely the first time, when you go back to the page the browser may be re-loading the bad image from the cache instead of fetching it anew from the site. |

I've tried control F5 several times and now also deleted temporary internet files and cookies. Still no change. |

On a PC running IE6, you may have a stubborn browser. Try Shift + Ctrl + F5.
Otherwise, it might be a good time to try Chrome. |

My computer doesn't respond at all to Shift + Ctrl + F5, only Ctrl + F5 on their own.
I think my IE is later than 6, but for some reason I can't find what version it is. I know I checked it a few weeks ago and I mentioned at the time that it is 8, so I assume I must have got that from somewhere. Sorry, it's definitely IE8. I'm seriously considering changing browsers, because IE seems to crash all the time. Just not sure which is best. As I said, I tried downloading Firefox earlier, but the download turned out to be corrupt. I think my computer hates me!

Make sure you backup, or hopefully have your original still in the camera card, and not erased there.
I hope that it's just a local problem with your net settings or something easy to take care of.
Have you tried looking at it from your home location on another computer?

Your download was corrupt? That's sorta odd... I can't say I've EVER run into that. How is your operating system running? Have you run CHKDSK at all recently or had any oddness otherwise? |

spiritualspatula I've often had problems with Neatimage downloads being corrupt and that was on a different computer. Possibly something to do with our internet being a bit on the slow side? It's the first time I've had this problem on my new computer (with Windows 7). I suppose I should run CHKDSK when I've got more time because sometimes I feel my computer isn't running as fast as it should.
MelonMusketeer there's no problem about the original. It's okay on my computer. It's just that I'm seeing it funny on DPChallenge. I was worried that the other voters might be seeing a corrupted version as well. |

New day, same problem. I think I'll have to try a new browser. |

Well I've just installed Chrome and I'm still having the same problem. I can't understand why others are seeing the photo okay, but my computer insists on showing a corrupt version. |
