The story of all our lives... :)

Don't give up, it took me 50 entries before I got my first winner. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun in the process.

I placed 7th last week and I didnt think my photo was good at all (choices). Then the ones I think are superb and should do well, never do. Its the story of my life... You will get better as time goes by.. :)
and 5.0 isnt bad! I've never gotten over 6.2 :)

Cheers

Well My 2nd photo (Studio Portrait) is just below a 6, and I will love it when I hit 6 need 2 more 10's or so :)
My 1st scored 84th place or so (out of 294) so I was pleased with that.

But all 3 my photo's now in all 3 challenges are above 5, and that gives a great feeling...

I'm realy happy with these kind of scores.

I have placed in the bottom five on my first two competitions, but higher on the second than the first, and this round I am pulling a 4.5 so far. I have over a decade of semi-professional and professional photography experience, but that clearly doesn't mean I am good at every type of photography. I am personally having trouble adjusting to shooting static subjects, when I am used to animal photography. Anyone have tips on making the transition to DPC-compliance? :)

Giles, nice to see you improve in every challenge - where will you stop lol

me? 5 challenges completed and my submissions in order of their highest score are 3rd, 5th, 2nd, 4th with my lowest score the first challenge. A couple of these where hampered by my lack of prowess in ps and a dodgy monitor. The June challenge will be my highest score, started at 6.8 with 14 votes and is now 5.8 with 84 votes (with a low point of 5.5). Whilst I look at votes (as we all do) I think the most important this is that you like the picture. I probably had 3 choices for this challenge and went for the 'middle of the road' choice (dare I say it? 1 commenter suggested I only needed a small child in the shot to make it 'fantastic' lol).
