FYI- BuyDig is selling 32GB Transcend 133x CF cards for $59.99 shipped. It's not a particularly fast card, but that's a whole lot of storage for less than most places charge for 16GB.

I looked up 133x as cards have long been rated at mb/s. That translates to 20 mb/s. Shannon wasn't kidding when he said it was slow.

Well, I wouldn't call it slow. While that card is nowhere near UDMA transfer rates, it's still about 14% faster than a SanDisk Ultra II or the 16GB Kingston Elite Pro I use regularly.

Ah, yes how jaded we've become with respect to transfer rates! I remember when 10MB/s was SAH-MO-KIN!

My 40D will not use the UDMA mode and this card will probably be faster in my 40D than a UDMA card... Soooooo I guess you can say it is fast....at least for my 40D!
LET THE DISCUSSION BEGIN!

You can also get a RiData 32 GB Compact Flash card that is 233x at Frys.com for $85. I bought one a couple of weeks ago before my Sandisk Extreme 400x cards were delivered. Both are much faster than my old cards and I don't have to wait for the buffer to clear anymore.

Advertised numbers don't always translate to real world use. On a Canon 50D, a 233X 16GB Ridata card writes RAW files at exactly the same speed as a 16GB 133X Transcend card! On a 5D Mark II, the 133X card is actually faster (and a 32Gb 133X Transcend is 16% faster than that). Food for thought.
