Now that GST and PST have been replaced by HST, I'm due to payoff the government for HST I've collected for this quarter.

I used the Quick Method for GST.

Anybody else in the same boat?

HST Quick Method

"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug-collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can."

Heh, sorry, I don't get either of those references. :-D
OK, I figured out your references, ha. :-P

This is for tax stuff.

Anyway, I finally got through to a human, and the answer is:

8.8% is the remittance rate on (gross+HST). Line 101.
1 percent reduction on first $30,000 (so 7.8%). Line 107.

I file annually, but make quarterly installments to lessen the shock, and as I pay directly through my bank online, I don't have the benefit of the forms to fill out. The silly government thinks I'm trying to file quarterly, so I get get a letter every time I make an installment. Maroons.

Be thankful you pay quarterly... if you didn't they would come after you for interest on the periods your were delinquent... and for what it's worth, you can do all that wonderful calculation on line.
