OK, that's interesting :-) Differences in the image from different sides of what the one lens projects... Learn something new every day. Thanks, Dave.

I'm surprised that they haven't figured out a way to use the lens side of the shutter blades as a mirror, and eliminate the angled reflex mirror that has to bang up and shake the camera with every shot.

This looks like da bomb.....I wish it was a tad cheaper but ya know.... the USD will be sold by weight soon, so to be expected. On my wish list for sure..... |

Ultimately a pretty expensive point and shoot. |

I'm probably different. But for me, my Canon 5Dm2 is my point and shoot since it's often left on "P" and autofocus. I point it and I shoot.
My rangefinder camera require me to focus manually and set aperture manually. It does not even allow me to "point and shot" if I wanted to. I love it :)
The fact that it does not have mechanical parts should IMO not automatically classify it as a P&S camera. Do you think the future is electronic or mechanical? I'm naiv enough to think it will be electronic ;)

So you`re telling me it will be electronic apertures on the next-gen of SLR Lenses, not mechanical ones?
No? Thought so..
Look, I`d love a Leica if nothing more than for some bragging rights, but I was awed by the Fuji when it was announced, but now it just seems an expensive P&S - my opinion, probably wrong, but there ya go!

I was actually referring to the mirrors :). I might of course be wrong, but it is what I think will happen - long term. If you; in the future, can go much smaller and lighter with equal or better quality than DSLR's and the price point is comparable... what would you choose?
But regardless, I have nothing against your opinion :) |
