I do agree with you, and that is my interpretation of the challenge (the counterpart to Mundane). On the other hand, I think there is some room for overlap. A rock can be either mundane or extraordinary, and if it looks extraordinary to me, then I'm certainly not going to punish the photographer for shooting a rock. After all, the real counterpart to the Mundane challenge would be to take an extraordinary object and make it look mundane, and who wants to see that? |

I made that mistake as well...except it's not one of my best photos! ;o) |
The harsh voters are out in force...my pic is something you certainly don't see everyday. I think there is only one left in existence, and i got an interesting angle. I also have a 4.1 and no comments as to why.
Me thinks the voters are having a very hard time putting a pic and the subject together.

After a really rough start of a 3.5 average, my score has managed to slowly climb up to a 5.3 It seems to me that some really critical voters were thrashing everyones pics last night. When the pics were first available for viewing I skimmed through them and said to myself, "I am gonna kick some butt this contest" My score seems to tell me otherwise. I thought this was my best entry and I had an 8th. place in the desat last week. But then again, this is only my forth challenge and I have only been taking digital pics for a couple of weeks so I guess I have a lot to learn.

People keep telling me that my horizon is tilted...IT IS NOT TILTED!! AFter this challenge is over I will explain better. But in my picture it's not supposed to have a perfect horizon. Also, it's not been sharpened or over exposed..it was taken in natural sunlight. No enhancements other than resizing for the challenge. I guess people think that a picture has to be perfect..not real. CRAZY!!!

Started at a 5.000 with 12 votes, dropped to 4.7600 after 25, then steadily raised back to 5.0714 after 70, and now with 254 votes (after a constant steady rise) I am at a 5.6339. So wierd, I've never seen it happen like this before. I've raised about .05 to .1 per day. It makes me very happy!
Especially when I see that 1 person has marked it as a favorite!
Please, everyone, if you mark a photo as a favorite during a challenge, comment on the picture and tell the photographer that! (since the system doesn't quite work right yet.)

I haven't had a new comment on my Extraordinary entry for more than 72 hours. I've been stuck at 12. And my score has barely wavered. It's time to end this thing. Okay, who won?

I agree..it's time to end it. And I'm assuming that the first place winner only has a score of maybe 6.5. Who knows though..someone out there may have a really high score. I still think my picture is good...regardless of what other people think..guess we'll find out in a day or so.

So far I just see an average. thanks, Ann

You don't. Those who know exactly what vote they got are watching their average closely and using a calculator. Life is too short for that. |

lol Yes I do use a calculator but my friend made an excel file where all he does is enter his number of votes and his score and it tells him the score given. We have way too much time on our hands. :)
