I'm about to order some studio strobes and I need a light meter.

I know that a lot of persons think that it is not necessary anymore, but still I think I will find it quite helpfull.

I need one that will work with ambient and flash light sources.

My thoughts for now are: Sekonic flashmate F-308S or Gossen Digipro F. In Amazon both are about the same price and in terms of features they look about the same.

Any opinions on those or recomendation for another one?

Best regards,

I have the Sekonic L358 for when I work with flashes. It has more than I need for what I do so I saw no need to go for a high and more expensive model.

I have the one in the video about light meters. You might find it of interest.

Light Meter

I also have this light meter and it works very well, good price (neither a low end item or over the top fancy)

IF you happen to be buying Paul Buff studio strobes, you might want to consider the CyberCommander--a pretty nice system (I have it) and it has a built in light meter function as well.
