| I like my Transcend CF cards and they are really cheap, but I've noticed that my red one can have trouble being recognized on my CF reader versus my green ones (both happen to be 2 GB cards). I have to insert it in some magical order I can never remember (CF reader into USB, card into reader) while I can do pretty well anything with the greens. I wondered if anybody had the same problem? I'm looking to grab some 4GB or 8GB cards and I noticed all the cheap ones on New Egg have red logos now. I wonder if I'll experience the same problem with them? |

Never owned a Transcend card.
I have 4 of these
Never had a moment of trouble with them.
They also have smaller capacity cards. |

It could be a flaky CF card or maybe cheaper components in that series. I've owned several green label (120x) Transcend cards and never had a problem with them, but ISTR at least one comparison where the orange (133x) Transcend cards were actually slower than the 120x versions. Either way, you're handicapping the capabilities of your camera. I normally use 8GB SanDisk Extreme III cards, but I also have a 16GB Kingston like scarbrd. The difference in speed is very noticeable: 23MB/s on the Sandisk vs. 9.9MB/s on the Kingston. The cards you're using are either comparable to the Kingston or even slower (a 2GB 133x Lexar transfers at 6.2MB/s). Burst rates and transfers to your computer are degraded as a result. An 8GB UDMA card would give you over three times the performance. |

| Ya, it's probably time to upgrade the speed of my cards, although I don't tend to use burst mode too much (except when I'm shooting football). |
