I looked and didn't see this posted. Earthquake of 7.1 magnitude hits New Zealand city

Here's a list of DPCers whose location is listed as Christchurch.
And here's the ones that are listed in New Zealand.

Hope they're all ok.

My USGS alert was amended to 7.2. (ETA, the local paper here says 7.4). That's a real ballbuster of a quake. I'm sure they had quite a ride, and I hope they're all OK.

It's no third world city, and so hopefully, with good building codes, no deaths. The last quake this big had just a few deaths. With some luck there will be none for this one.

News reports are saying just minor injuries, so hopefully everyone is OK.
