Happy voters are certainly out. I'm still doubting and wondering how long it will last. But I'm enjoying it immensely while it happens :D

| My title is a good oxymoron. My photo is good. Yet, my scores are indicating a lot of DNMC votes. Maybe voters should check the titles to see if it might be a very good oxymoron they haven't thought of. |

I'd assume that most folk would read the title of this challenge. At least I hope they do.

| I never complain about my scoring... but seriously, my photo is DEFINITELY an oxymoron, two of them infact.. and its a good, focused, clear photo... and I have a 4.4, my lowest I think EVER on DPC. :( |

I have recently been puting more thought into how I vote to firstly ensure I don't let what is happing to my own entry dictate my scoring pattern (as much as possible) and secondly to try and score for both technicals and how the photo affects me. I know this is not new (and there's every chance my method is exactly the same as someone else's that I happened to see some time ago). The way I score an entry is this:
Meets the challenge: 0-2
Lighting/Composition: 0-3
Post Processing: 0-2
Overall Impression: 0-3
What I also find is that by looking at each element results in a longer view and better appreciation of the photo. I don't know if this will help you but it works for me.

Then someone probably thought mine wasn't an oxymoron. Yet it was on the lists.
That's why I'm hesitant to pass out 1s for DMNC, unless it is incredibly, blatantly obvious that someone was trying to ignore the challenge description. Just because I don't get it, doesn't mean that it doesn't fit. The lowest I give is a 3 and often a 4. Because a 1 slams people so hard -- and it could be simply my ignorance.

LOL - another middling score for me. I'm always glad to get comments.
In this case, I wish the majority of them didn't say in one way or another
"I don't get it!"
Because I was so pleased with this entry (Ah, such hubris!) I broke my usual
rule of omerta and send good-natured explanations to the question mark
people because I always forget later.
