Morning everyone!

I wonder if you folks could help me out. I need a flash and I am looking at the two models listed above. Which one would you choose and why?

I would also like to learn more about lighting and using external flash units to their best possible advantage. Anybody know of any good books, tutorials, etc. on the subject?

Thanks - I'm looking forward to your comments!

See this recent thread or this thread as a start.

My personal preference would be for the Canon.

With your camera, since it doesn't have Flash Exposure Compensation, the Sigma 500, but I would strongly recommend the 550EX instead.

You don't mention what you plan to use it for, but I would recommend the Off-Camera Cord as well.
