Dear Friends,

Now I am planning to jump into business of photography. I have setup home studio and now I want to advertise it. I thought of creating a pamphlet for it and distribute it around.
I want to create a very attractive pamphlet for advertisement because I think "First Impression is Last Impression". Could you please help me regarding this?

I need some creative idea to make my pamphlet attractive and impressiv.
I think I am out of ideas for this...

PLEASE HELP...

The best approach would be to look at competitors websites and leaflets to see what ideas you think look good. Look for things like colours, fonts, layout, tag-lines, and most importantly content.

Then decide on the purpose of the leaflet. Do you want to advertise special deals and prices? What's the call-to-action? (Are you going to tell people to phone you to book a session to avail of a 'discount' for example)

Then once you've put together 2 or 3 draft designs, come back here and look for critique.

Do you have a logo? If not that's where you should start. Branding should flow throughout all of your stuff. Once you have that you can create all sorts of things. Business cards, Postcard mailers, phamplets, photo books, etc. You also need a focus. Are you going to advertise for product photography? Stock? Portraits? Lifestyle? Events? Weddings? If product then what type? clothing? Food? etc... If Portraits then what type? Family, Children, Executive, Environmental? You get the idea. You may already have all of this known but without any of that type of information it is difficult to help. Who is your audience basically and what do you want to tell them?

Thanks a lot Sheryll for your suggestions...

Currently I do not have a logo, but I am creating one. I have the the design in my mind but That I need to put on the paper, So I will come up with my logo soon.

Other thing is currently I am planning to start with all kind of Portraits[Family, Children, Personal, executive etc.]. Later I will start other things too. And my audience will be normal people. I just want to convey that they will get the full return of their money.

Along the lines of what others have offered, before you spend time/money on anything marketing related, you need to spend time putting together both a business plan and a marketing plan (even though they are similar, they are different). Most businesses fail not because the owner cannot do the work of the business (i.e. take photos, bake cakes, sew clothes), but because they cannot handle the administrative tasks (such as tracking invoices, filing tax reports, managing schedules) or the sales tasks (such as prospecting, qualifying, marketing). It's not enough to simply own the equipment to do the work.

There are many resources available on the Internet for starting a small business; the toughest part for you will be finding resources that are relative to your culture. The main thing is to make sure you have a budget so that you don't put all your money into a single initiative (like printing a pamphlet), only to find that you would have been better served spending your money on other things.

Good luck!
