I dropped quite rapidly from 6.1567 after 16 votes to my current score. I actually way over processed my image and I wish I had entered the normally processed version instead as it looks miles better and I,m sure would have done miles better too.

No, it's not you. This accounted for my avg score of 5.2, usually I vote much higher. I also saw quite a bit of over-sharpened images. JMO, but it's hard to shoot an animal with a snout from the front with short DOF--either the nose will be in focus or the eyes. I also found humans to be outside of the theme. There were some that seemed like digital art rather than a photograph, due to processing--they were beautiful but seemed like fun with filters. Maybe that's the trend on the site, I kinda stopped hanging out here for a while. |
