I also went on one of his workshops in Bali with Goodman. Although it was geared more towards street portraits then his current rounds of model/fashion workshops. I basically used three lenses, 50 mm 1.8, Tamron 17-50, and my Sigma 10-20. I took a 70-300 4-5.6 but its quality was so poor it mostly just sat in the bag. I would recommend renting a 70-200. Either variety is great(f/4 or f2.8), I know Goodman used her 70-200 f4 all of the time and mine uses the 70-200 quite a bit as well. You may also enjoy an 85 mm lens. Have fun.

I have a friend who attended one of his workshops in NY last year. He came back with a much better eye and ability to manipulate natural light. His portraits have have taken on a whole new dimension since working with Manny. I'm jealous of you but you already outstanding portraits will only get better because of his teaching. Have fun.
