Some interesting slow motion photography is shown here, where things break very slowly.
Especially the bit where the martial artist breaks bricks.
Enjoy!

Okay, one bump to let people watch glass and lightbulbs break,
and guys break bricks with their hands.

I found myself in awe. So interesting to see in slow motion what we are unable to process in real time. |

It was excellent.
I didn't have time to view the whole thing, so I fast-forwarded it.
Then it all looked normal. (just kidding), :-)

AMAZING, blazing speed! Camera used - Photron FASTCAM SA1.1
Models are only from
about $200,000 to $457,000 (SA5 Camera with up to 1 million fps at 1024x1024)
"The FASTCAM SA1 improved provides blistering fast speed, unmatched light sensitivity and true 12-bit performance. Capable of over 5,000 full frames per second (fps) at mega pixel (1K x 1K) resolution, the brand new CMOS sensor provides true twelve bit pixel depth and is now capable of reduced resolution faster than 650,000 fps!"

Super awesome!!!! Thanks, Alice.
I especially liked the lightning video. My favorite part of the other video was the lighter being sparked--flame propagation is pretty nifty. |

And the way the hand wobbles as it breaks the brick. Amazing |

Just a minor correction, the SA5 camera is capable of 7000 fps at full 1024x1024 resolution. The 1,000,000 fps is at 16x64 resolution. It's really fast, but HiDef it ain't... |

For a more reasonable consumer package capable of doing some of this stuff, there are the Casio High-speed EXILIM cameras, which can take up to 1,000fps videos. |

Though that 1000fps is at a resolution of 224x64 and it's fastest shutter speed is "only" 1/40000. |

This is an incredible video.
Title: "Watch Ten Minutes of Glorious Bullet Impacts at 1,000,000 FPS"
It's much better than it sounds.
And it sounds awesome.
