I'm trying to find the big free software thread. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms, but I can't find it. I'm looking for some type of freeware to do a slideshow to music. I only need it for a one time use, so I really don't want to have to buy something.

I searched for "freeware" and "Yo_Spiff" :)

Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I tried free software, and freeware, neither brought it up. Guess I needed the Yo Spiff part, LOL!

Well, just went through the thread & the only slideshow software is mac. Anyone know of any freeware for slideshows for PC?

Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of slideshow you're planning on producing, but IrfanView has a slideshow function and can output an executable file.

I'll give them a look. I'm doing a cancer benefit tomorrow and they want a slideshow of all the pictures set to music on dvd. Last year I just provided all the shots on dvd & they had them printed to send to the people. This year they are giving both the prints & a dvd. My aunt runs the benefit from her salon. They get a day of beauty (everything is free of charge), lunch, give aways (flowers, hats, handbags, jewerly, etc.). Last year there were 27 recipients. Of those, 14 have since passed away. My aunt has gotten numerous letters of thanks from the family's for the pictures because they all look so happy.

edit to add: There are 40 people signed up for this year.
