how do you get to change the icon next to your name, as
some have done?

Got to be a member of the site council. But you can change it to purple by becoming a paying member:)

The Admins are in yellow, and the Site Council were given special, custom made icons during a recent upgrade to the site. So to get one of those you have to be chosen to be a member of the SC. See who they are here.
Of course, you could change your icon by becoming a member and putting on the blue shirt. It would look good on you. :p

I would love to be a member, its a mission from s.a. though,
you guys dont accept our plastic money, i have to go to a bank
and do all sorts of weird things. sa may be 3rd world but our
banking facilities and value of plastic is 1st world.
anyhow have written to authorities to say i have lots of friends
who would enter the digits in an instant to become members..........
heres hoping..
