Generally, there is more to a story than what is reported. BUT, if report is telling the whole story, I totally agree with you.

Our society is making it too easy to avoid personal responsibility. We are doomed.
*sigh*

I just heard this on the news. There is a neighborhood somewhere up north.....They said but I'm not sure. I think it was New York. Anyway these kids were playing a prank on this guy. Just as this man was going to bed, these kids rang the doorbell and started beating on the door. The guy ran to the door and saw some people running across the front yard. He caught up with one and tackled him. Anyway the parents of the kid has pressed charges and this homeowner was arrested for protecting his property. He was arrested for endangerment of a minor. I think he should press charges on the teen for tresspassing. The news report also said that this neighborhood has been having a problem with this. They have had mailboxes broken and stuff like that. My view is the homeowner should not be in trouble, the kids need a good whipping, and the parents need to spend more time with their kids and monitor their activities more closely. What views do ya'll have.

Oh, I can so top that.

I was going to buy some eyeglass cleaner thingies at the local Costco today. On the back of the box, it recommended I remove any stray grit - wouldn't want to scratch the glasses while using the special lens cleaner pads, you know. And to remove this grime and grit, they recommended I use a shamee. Yes, a shamee. It took me a moment or two to figure out they probably (but I am not entirely sure) meant chamois. What is the world coming to??

Well you wouldn't want an amateur well pump, now would you? It might only work part of the time, spending hours a day in training....

On our way back from something, we saw cop cars all over the highway. They'd closed the ramps on and off the interchange at a certain place. We were going to stop for chicken, but we had to get home to feed the cats. The kitties saved us.

My wife had a prescription for Ambien, (sleeping pills). What does the label say? "Caution, can cause drowsiness." As if that wasn't the point in the first place.

Oh, another one. And I know this has nothing to do with tackling people who ring your doorbell, or dining with gunmen...

On the way home I get to listen to lots of commercials on the radio. One came on, a gentleman very earnestly telling me about his truly touching experience purchasing his first Rolex, and his personal jeweler, Carol, who helped him understand what an excellent investment he was making.... I kept waiting for the punchline. There wasn't one. He really was selling me a Rolex through his personal jeweler Carol. He assured me that he was so pleased he'd bought more Rolexes to document other important events in his life, "but I still love that first one."

Seriously. How many Rolex timepieces (they are SO not watches) does one truly need?

All this is good, but have any of you heard about Sherrod's remarks and how she was fired?

When I FIRST heard the story....even before the entire video was released, it was quite clear to me she was telling a story of reconciliation. How this was not clear to everyone is beyond me.

A person who learns from their mistakes and admits it in open forum is someone that should be looked up to. Those that fire someone before getting the facts just help to wheel the country into greater problems.
