just as the title says, i want to make a lightbox, i found lots of diy tutorials, but none go into details about what kinds of lights to use.

anything small, easy to move, cheap, and not too hot. Cheap, clip-on work lights with daylight cfl's work great. Or you can use the flashlights that have a built in stand and flex heads.

Totally agree on the daylight CFLs. They are less bright than say a halogen, but provide a much nicer light. I just build my own light box, and first went with some halogen spots. I hated the yellow cast, so returned them, and got daylight CFLs.

For the light fixture, I picked up simple table lamps with bendy necks that can get purchased from any department store for normally around $10 each.
