1/3s f/22 at 55.0mm iso400 - Canon EF 24-105mm F/4L USM - 7/09/2010

"Old faithful" seems to be a little under represented at DPC... here is a very slightly different look at that classic icon of American landscape photography.

I grew up a little over 100 miles from here. The great thing about Old Faithful is that you can reshoot it more or less once an hour until you get it right. It's pretty spectacular in winter. The water coming out is super heated and turns instantly into ice crystals and frozen mist. The water goes up, but never comes down at -20 degrees. And often in bitter winter, the sun shines and the sky is a deep spectacular blue. Go if you ever can!
