Doing, well, ok... Actually slightly better than I expected, as I chose a rather difficult first, just to see how much improvement I could pull off.. I'm pleased. :)

In a different challenge, but I got hit with a few 1s last night too. I hadn't been hit with one for like 60 or 70 votes.

I sent the originals from my hard drive and they said:
Note from Administrator:
Please upload your originals AS THEY CAME FROM THE CAMERA, and NOT version that have been viewed or altered by Windows' picture viewer. Please contact us if you require any assistance in doing this.
Heck, I've just rotated the image using the Windows viewer. Then I had to use an undelete program to recover the files from the SD Card, which luckly, I haven't used since then.
Waiting to see what comes next.

My own personal method is to rename the folder on my SD card to, say, "First entry". Then I copy that to my hard drive, and do edits on the copy. I then delete the SD folder when the competition's done.
All because I'm too lazy to keep track of the one file that I use for the competition!

I totally second this...this is how I got my first Dq...the software program that I was using Picasa does something to the files when downloading...and I do exactly what Love says to do now...I go directly from camera to my C file and my external drives...I do not view, I do not open, I do not rotate, I keep a clean "virgin" files on my external hard drives, working only from my C Drive. And finally...I only shoot RAW. Which is supposedly unchangeable in the files whereby JPEG is changeable. Hard lessons learned... |

I shoot strictly RAW these days. Fills up my hard drive faster, but gives me more options, and I never have to worry about the original.
