I have a Nikon D70. How can you tell how many "clicks" or pictures that have been taken with it? My last image loaded was 5539 on the image tag. Does this flip like an odometer is do you think that is the number of images taken?

Evening Louis. You could try Googling "shutter actuations nikon" which will take you Here.

I hope this helps a bit.

Here's a link for Mac users for getting shutter count:
Link to shutter count program

Don't know if shutter count flips like an odometer for other Nikons, but a friend w/ a D40 told me the count on his flipped over at 10K (so 9,999???). He said he's flipped his twice.

Hope this helps...
