I'm going tp Niagara Falls. I want to have a picture the captures the essence of the falls, but in a non conventional way, and I'm stuck. Any suggestions? |

Well, you could do a Google Image search on Niagara Falls. That would give you an idea of the various perspectives people have used, and then choose your game plan accordingly. Many of the most spectacular images I've seen come from the helicopter rides (warning, site has really loud music on the splash page), but they're pretty pricey.
Which side will you be staying on, Amurrican or Canajun? That sort of makes a difference. There's Fireworks over the Falls every Friday and Sunday at 10PM all summer long, too. Check my location on my profile and feel free to PM me...

how about a shot as you go over in a small boat, not too many of those i bet :)
tip: make sure your water and lenses are water tight. |

I thought you were supposed to go over in a barrel... Shows what I know, I guess.

Maybe you could get a decent shot through the glass in the Skylon Tower. If nothing else, it's fun to have lunch/dinner in a rotating restaurant. |

Think they would mind if I were to set my tripod up on one of the tables?

Are you going to be there for the fireworks in the evening? Not sure if there are actually any 'untaken' pictures of the Falls themselves any more.
When I was down there last year I created a triptych set of candids, each one showed a person or a couple with the Falls in the background. That's about as original as I could get. |
