I have a photo I want to enter into the June Free Study, however I want to do a lot of editing to it. I'm not a member yet, just a registered user, but if this is allowed I will join and submit it. My procces is as follows:

-Filtered in Neat Image
PHOTOSHOP
-Duplicate Background, named Layer1
-Duplicate Background, named Layer2
-Delete Background
-Adjust Levels on Layer2
-Adjust Brightness/Contrast on Layer2
-Adjust Levels on Layer1
-Add Gradient Layer Mask to Layer1
-Flatten Image
-Crop
-Adjust Brightness/Contrast
-Clone Brush
-Resize
-Sharpen
-Save for Web

I know this is way beyond the basic editing rules but I didn't see anything in the advanced rules that would DQ it. If there is, please let me know what it is and maybe I can come up with another way of doing it. If you have any questions about what I did in any step let me know. I'll see if I can answer it clearly.

Thanks for any help!

Hey!

You can work with layers as long as you are not creating something new for the layer. You can clone stuff, as long as you are not creating a major part to add to the photo. Basicall, for member's challenges you can pretty much do all that as long as you hold photographic integrity to the utmost. the rules are pretty straight forward & is a good place to look if you havent already.
Good luck!

Thanks, just wanted to be sure!
The use of layers and gradient masks in this case were to bring out the colors in two seperate elements of the photo. Looks like it's ok. I'll be joining later this afternoon!
