The rule of thirds is great for photography. It makes composition easy, and adds logic to it all.
I've always lived my life by the rule of six - no more than six people at any gathering with me and I won't freak out.
But now I find that the rule of thirds is even better than my rule of six, except when the thirds are made up of a couple and that third lug nut (me). But then with the rule of six, it usually ends up two couples, the lug nut, and the wrench the two couples thought would be a good fit for the lug nut. Which leaves the lug nut feeling uncomfortable and the wrench feeling trapped, unless of course it is a desperate wrench who would love to wrap itself around any lug nut. Thank goodness I don't have that many friends to try to form the rule of six into such an awkward event. So yeah - the rule of thirds is best.
What's your rule?

You're right - my fear of people can only be blamed on myself, as I could seek counseling. I treid it once - but the damn shrink wanted me to come to his group....of 8 !!!! j/k

Oh, I wasn't saying that in a critical way of you. "Solamente" is just my "philosophy" at the moment... I like "just me time" without distractions for now.
