There are lots of affordable grips for the 7d. Some, better than others. I have not seen that exact version. I did have the opportunity, to play with a phottix. Although the feel of the shutter release, is slightly different. I was very impressed with the construction and quality.
A local has them for sale in Ottawa for $100-125. I'm getting one for my 5d, as my original batteries are going. So I'm getting the grip and going the AA route. So do check out Phottix. |

Unless you've got thousands of AA batteries, you'll probably want to just buy some generic replacements rather than using AAs, since a cluster of AAs usually lasts only 20ish shots (based on when I briefly used them in my 20D). You can pick up generic compatible batteries (usually with higher mAh than the canon ones) that'll do the job nicely - the main advantages of the grip are the increased size and increased battery capacity after all :)
