I'm watching it on tape delay so I'm a bit behind. At first we all though the refereeing was a conspiracy against the US with their two disallowed goals, but now we know it's actually a conspiracy against english speaking countries in general. :(
Sympathies to England! |

Refereeing or no, they got hammered. What a rout...

England were very poor! Germany deserved to win, though if that 'goal' England 'scored' stood, who knows what the outcome would have been - but, hey, that's sport for you - full of iff's and but's

54 seconds between the England goal that was and the one that wasn't. By some accounts that represents the portion of the ninety minutes in which England played well. Go Deutschland! :) |

Meh.
At least they didn't suffer from the decision, unlike Ireland.
*cheers Germany!*

No, England didn't suffer during the playing of the match, rigor mortis set in during half time. What a dismal performance by the whole team and I can hear the scouts running from the players in their droves. |

Definitely. And Capello was on like £7million for that? The fans will want their blood.
But while the coaching wasn't good... the players were also awful.
It was a very exciting game, though. I really enjoyed it.
---
Edit: After today I reckon they'll have to put serious consideration into using a video official for soccer.

I just asked that people not post spoilers in the title.
I agree with people who feel that Germany deserved the win anyway. They clearly outplayed England. Still, a 2-2 game a few minutes into the half is a very different game than a 2-1.
Germany is looking to be a finals contender. |

I'm not a soccer fan (it's fine, it just doesn't thrill me.) But I watched the U.S. games with my husband. When a typical game only scores 1 or 2 points, I find it amazing that they don't have video replay options. A missed called in baseball doesn't usually affect the game one way or the other. A missed call in soccer can change the entire game.

There's apparently only one person in the world that doesn't want in-game video reviewing.

The young German team made the English team look old, slow and fat. |

I reckon they could be adding another star to their shirts before the end of July. Great team. |

Haha! That was in The Sun on Friday. You must do better than that to beat the clowns performance this afternoon, plenty of fodder for the press. But at least Capello signed a new 4 year contract before leaving for South Africa!! Now he can retire back to Italian football with a nice nest egg, and they need a new coach as well! |

OK, Capello was asked on Saturday what did he think he would opt for? 4-4-2? 5-3-2?
He said "747, they have much more leg room and the flight is far more comfortable". |

And now that England are out, you can comfortably go back to supporting your English premiership teams. |

That's exactly how the linesman(assistant referee) saw it and of course he was right. |

The linesman was in the right position! He was where he should be.. in line with the last man! It happened so fast there was no way he could make that call.!
Germany finally revealed what the England team was(n't) made of.
They look good but will lose to my Argentine 11!!
Diego will be on the peso come July 12th. |

What a fantastic game... it was beautiful, beautiful football from my beloved Germans. Podolski and Klose are still stars. |
