I fell asleep at 11:52pm last night after being up till 3:45am the night before shooting my image. No nice surprise this morning. That should seriously be 6.8, IMHO! Seriously frustrating. Yes, I'm griping. Honestly thought this would punch well into the top ten or better. I'm personally going to fly around the world this week and smack some sense into each and every voter. Oh maybe I shouldn't say that, now I'll get a bad rap here. I'm gonna have a little gray cloud over my head all day. |

Yes, it's just my first real time doing it. I'll try and keep my disappointments to myself from now on :) Besides I don't want to gloat when the scores suggest that i may Ribbon some day.

I'm realizing that there are big differences in photographic taste between american (dpc) people and italian (many other forums) people...
is the only way to understand the low score of my photo on books challenge...
well, but i have hard head, i continue to make photos and put them in the challenges, sooner or later i will take a place on the podium!!! ;-)

Your right with what you're saying. There IS a big difference between DPC Tastes and other photography sites. Good photography is good photography no matter where you go BUT...there definitely is a very distinct "style" that wins the votes in DPC. There's a bunch of other factors as well that come into play but, it's true that tastes are different here.
I've taken a peek at your portfolio and with only 26 challenges entered and not having anything under a 5 score in your recent work, you're doing GREAT! Keep that "hard head" LOL! :) It's working! |

I just redid my scoring... I let my frustration reflect my scoring from last night. I apologize and a lot of you should see some benefit from this. :)

I think a lot of people tend to lower their scoring out of frustration when their scores aren't doing well. I don't usually vote when I'm feeling that low about my own score and try to get past it or not vote at all....just comment. Other times, I do what you have just done...go back and revise *IF* I think I may have been in a "bad frame of mind" when I did vote. Good for you! :) |

He's doing a lot better today -- it's still sore, but it doesn't seem to be the stabbing pain it was yesterday. Hopefully we've turned to corner! (And the anti-jinx worked! I really need to keep you around. You have some powerful juju there!)
