I'm suffering from the confusion of a photographer who loves her low scoring pic. I got the giggles taking it and processing it, and that's enough to make it a sucess for me, but I'd like to know what I could do to improve it. I only recieved one critical comment during the challenge about the over-exposure, and two more comments that said they thought the exposure was just fine. Please help!
Thanks in advance,
Amanda

I quite like it.. I didn't have time to vote on this challenge unfortunately, but I would've given this around 7.
I think technically it's great.. the lighting, background and colours are perfect. The composition could possibly be changed to make it a bit more visually appealing, although I'm not sure how.
I think also that voting tends to reflect a negative attitude towards 'toy' like objects in general.

I almost always have a negative reaction to toy figurines used to represent the subject of the challenge, in lieu of the actual thing - for example, a toy car instead of an actual automobile. If other people have the same reaction, that would cause a lot of people to vote low.
However, this photo was one of the only exceptions I've seen to that general rule. I really liked it, probably because of the editing that you put into it. But maybe some people just couldn't get past the fact that you were using toys. It's just a guess, but that could have contributed to the voting.
Good luck with this nasty typhoon, BTW!

Hi Amanda
I loved this photo, it was one of my highest rated photos for the week! I can't believe it scored as low as it did, but hey don't let it bother you because it really is a great photo!
Hope to see more from you in the future...

Thanks guys! I didn't realize there was an anti-toy sentiment! Something else to add to the list of flowers, squirrels, dogs, cats, frogs, motorcycles... ;-).
