Let's do a nude challenge where only black and white nudes or color nudes are allowed. I don't think this has ever been done before on this site.

I think he meant (only black and white) OR (only colour)

Colour nude would be interesting - so often the Fine Art Nude stuff defaults to black and white.

I took it at face value as a genuine question. I know he can be somewhat direct but I value that and have huge respect for his work. Text based conversations like this allow us to read all sorts of implicit meaning into all sorts of things if we choose to.

exactly, but the point of posting the suggestion was to say.....let's only do color(if this means actually color, sepia, whatever to you), or do it straight up black and white....no need for stupid comments from people just trying to get a rise out of someone else....sorry louis....i have had a really bad day....

Wow.... and people wonder why the complaining on the forum soars while the willingness to offer anything plummets. Sad.

I don't think he was intending to be a smartass... I think his question was actually pretty legitimate based on your original post. I had no idea what you meant either. Please don't get all upset about it... re-read your original post, and I think you should understand that what he was asking was not meant to be a slam.

I think the point being raised is that what other options besides "black and white" or "color" are there.... other then what Louis said.... Why did you specify b&w or color instead of just saying Let's do a nude challenge unless you meant to exclude the options Louis brought up?

then obviously you all need to go take a fricking english class....if you say.....let's do a challenge where only black and white OR color is allowed.....it means that either black and white pictures OR color pictures are the only entries that are allowed, and other forms of processing need not even be thought of....jesus christ I thought there was some level of intelligence in this world

This site is filled with many people who are not native English speakers so that comment is not acceptable.

You have been a member of this site for a few days shy of a month and yet you make assumptions about people you know nothing about. If you lose the attitude and calm down, you will see that the members of this site, for the most part, will give you excellent advice on how to improve your photography skills, joke with you, and make you feel welcomed.

It really is up to you how you are treated.

Your wording for the challenge you suggested was awkward (and I do believe that I have quite a respectable understanding/command of the English language) and you were given the choice to respond in a civil manner and make your challenge description more clear, ask questions if you didn't understand what the person responding to your suggestion was, or to get defensive. You decide what your response was.

The members here are very forgiving if you decide to respond to their comments in a more respectful manner. I could give you my opinion on what words your next post should contain but I will leave it up to your level of intelligence. And I am being sincere in putting forth some things for you to think about.

I thought the original statement was confusing, and my command of the English language is just fine. If you had written "only black and white or only color" your intention would have been clearer. The way you wrote it, some people understood while others did not.

FWIW I thought it was awkwardly stated as well. I do have "some" mastery of the language. And I may have been thought a prick at one time or another, but never quite (yet) called one openly. And maybe thought of as stupid or dull at times...but never quite so openly. Dude...bad form. Lighten up and show some respect.
