Hello,

I had voted 7 on the winner of the Family II challenge a few days ago. I really liked the photo and even explained why I liked it. During the next few days I was thinking of making it my top vote and changing it to a 9 or 10.

I finally decided and changed it from a 7 vote to a 10. I did this with 5 seconds left for voting.

Using the excel score calculator, I fooled with the final numbers and came up with this:

This chart shows the FINAL tally with MY vote being a 10.
Votes Average Total Points # New Votes # New Points New Votes Avg.
191 7.0995 1356 191 1356 7.0995

This chart (If I'm right) shows the score if my vote had remained a 7.
Votes Average Total Points # New Votes # New Points New Votes Avg.
191 7.0840 1353 191 1353 7.0838

What I did was keep the #of votes the same (191) but kept changing the Average (7.0840) until the Total points = 1353 (down 3 points from what photo ended up with)

1356 - 1353 = 3 (3 being the difference in points from my 7 vote to my 10 vote.

Since the current 2nd place vote was 7.0947 and the winner would have received a 7.0840 without my vote change - I think my last second vote change changed the outcome.

I'm I correct?

Also...I know that everyone could go back and say...I changed this or if I would have voted a 5 instead of a 9 then it is MY vote that pushed it over...etc...however, I'm not interested in that...

I just want to know (because I'm power mad) if my vote changed the outcome at the last second.

Thanks,

Kenskid

As long as no one else was changing votes at the same time you were. However, I'd guess there's probably a few voters rearranging votes at the last second.

Yeah...I thought about this (banning) before I posted but felt with my original comment on the image my final vote of 10 was justified...at least in my mind !

I'll usually pick one or two images out the pack and and rank them 1 or two points higher than my next highest votes. I usually do this after I voted on all entries. Just so happens that I changed my vote with a few seconds to spare. When I saw the difference between 1st and 2nd, I immediatly felt that I just CHANGED HISTORY !

Nah.....your vote may have changed the outcome, (I had a 7.13 right before rollover), but your not a Jester in my book. I am honored to be right up there with Lonni.

Just curious. You have a small army of ribbons. Why does it matter if you got a red this time? :-)

Show offs, I tell ya;-);-)

(just pulling your leg.. before you go on a hate spree)

I changed my votes at the very end exactly the opposite of what you did, so in essence I canceled your action and you mine. So apparently this event evolves around someone else. Sorry to disappoint you.

Sweet....will that cancel out my banning also?

Is this what they call "The posting of the Banns"? I hope you two have a long and happy life together :-)
