I'm considering buying an Eye-fi card, and wonder if any of you have had experience with it. Are you happy with it? And I particularly want to know if it alters the files when it transfers them wirelessly to the computer. Will they qualify as originals if an entry has to be validated?

That's an interesting question though according to this chart the 400D doesn't support Eye-Fi. At least it's not included in the list.

Good point about compatibility. I have other cameras, but I would like to get it for the 400D. I'll check into that further.

I know someone was successfully using one of those cards with a CF adapter in a canon body but cant remember who. There were a couple threads on it a while back...

General info and timings discussed in this thread.
As for altering files... Raw formats, no. Jpg formats, yes, if you use geotagging -- it will add/modify EXIF data for geotagging info -- I cannot speak for dpc validation of those jpgs -- would be worth asking SC, but my guy would say not valid, since EXIF was modified. You can turn geotagging off, though.
CF options are always a hot topic over on the eyefi forums... The official position from EyeFi is they are not supported, and an official CF-card is coming out "really soon" (where "really soon" has been a moving target for over a year now...) Just sayin'.
Canon 400D results discussed in this eyefi forums thread. Sounds like results are mixed.

Thanks for all that info. I searched the forums before I opened this thread, and couldn't find anything. Guess I'm not much good at searching. :/ Anyway, my questions are answered. Thanks again.
