So, i'm a huge fan of old Victorian spirit and occult photography, ectoplasm and ghosts etc, a fascinating sub-genre of photography, so i was really happy when i inadvertently captured some of the spooky little blighters whilst photographing for the HDR challenge. I've edited accordingly spooky...

This was the longest exposure of five and all the others were clear. Someone has obviously walked in front of the camera of course (although i don't remember anyone doing that - i probably wasn't paying attention by then). But i'm more interested in the light phenomenon from the chandelier at the back...

I've seen this effect before but can't remember the explanation. I guess it must be an electrical thing. Any thoughts?

Thinking some more on it i guess the obvious answer is that someone knocked the tripod as they walked past, just for a split second. A ghost, obviously. Still, interesting effect.
