just sold our home of 31 years ( after 5 months on the market) we have down sized and are moving next month.I guess that others have been in this situation. My question is what does one do whith a life collection of negs etc mainly of weddings and other social occasions as well as your personal stuff ie mounted exhibition photos etc. My wife has cited d.i.v.o.r.c.e. if the dont go as we just dont have the space. I have had a big cleanout of "expendable stuffII burnt the negs in the chippie. and the old prints and albums went in the big blue bin. Most of the wedding stuff goes back years and most of the couples prolly be divorced by now !!!!. Im thinking the land fill.for the negs as they would be buried. I am more concerned about the privacy angle rather than the actual destruction. your thoughts.
We sure have accumilated a huge arrange of things to go, I have filed one large rubbish skip and ordered another

Boy... I would love the negatives to my wedding photos. We didn't even get to keep the proofs. (some people did...) Too bad you can't contact the people and sell them the negatives cheaply.
If you're worried about privacy, borrow someone's shredder. But I can't see that it would be an issue. What's the likelihood of someone going through the dump and grabbing the negatives and using them? Plus, did you guarantee privacy in a contract? If not, I can't see that it would be an issue if someone did find them and use them.
Make life easy -- dump 'em.
