I've gotten spoiled with all my other photo software being "auto update" or at least prompting me when there are updates.

Just wanted to throw the news out there that Photomatix 3.2.9 is out (was released mid-May, actually). It won't notify you of the update unless you manually check for it yourself.

There appear to be somewhat minor updates since 3.2.7 in January, mostly dealing with raw conversion within Photomatix Pro, and some bugs in the 64-bit version -- if you haven't updated your photomatix install, it might be a good time to check out the release notes and/or upgrade...

Also, Trey Ratcliff is demoing Photomatix v4 with some initially sparse details on his blog. Couldn't find any specifics on a release date, nor upgrade costs for existing 3.x users. Hopefully more details to come soon.

ETA - According to Trey, upgrade to v4 will be free for Pro v3 users (NICE!)

Thanks for the heads up on this. The upgrade took only about 20 seconds to download.

I just read about the upcoming version 4.0 and I look forward to upgrading to that for the better noise control on Photomatix. Noise has always been what I dislike most about HDR processing and I have to work hard to control it. I hope that the new noise controls in 4.0 live up to what Stuck In Customs says about it.

Downloaded it myself, easy-peasy. Can't wait for 4.0 version...

Yeah, I regularly round-trip my Photomatix output over to NoiseNinja as a regular workflow.

Between the noise controls in v4 and if-it's-ever-released-one-day-now LR3, maybe it will simplify my workflow by a step at least. I dunno, I still kinda like tweaking the noise and sharpening in NN and moving the little magic-box around the screen. :P
