Carrie, I almost sent you a PM yesterday saying I love your enthusiasm and attitude. But I didn't because we don't know each other and you never know how it will be taken. Point is, you've got a great attitude. Learn and meet folks. That's why I'm here and I am loving it. The people are fantastic (CJ, Kat, my fellow Flashers, I'm talking about you). And the learning opportunities are unsurpassed.

Carrie, I am not a spring chicken at this site and I still have to give myself little pep talks about staying. I quit once when I got mean things said to me (said it looked like I was photographing photos out of magazines because they were flat)or got ignored very pointedly in the threads... I could kill some threads in two sentences.
But I came back.
I came back because I learned so much here. I learned from reading the posts, the tutorials, the how did they do that? I also learned from one member in particular who really took me under his wing and taught me to shoot wildlife.
I wish I could tell you that it will all pass but in truth, it might not. But you will find kind people here who will help you. It has been my experience that some people will remain caught up in their own sense of importance but the majority don't - reach out to them and I hope you carry through on your plan on staying.

Carrie, sweetie, just relax. Though I wasn't subjected to the bs you seem to be drawing as a noob, I still have drawn and continue to draw my share. Ok, sometimes I ask for it :-)
Not long ago another kind soul,  sweetbread, joined and ribboned almost immediately. People began suspecting she was Rose and accusing her of such and pretty much drove her away, though I do see her name as active whenever I check to see who's online. She was equally bewildered over the whole Rose thing. May want to PM her to compare 'I am NOT Rose!' experiences.
In most societies, DPC amongst them, 95% are decent folk willing to give you a second chance and help you out when you ask for it. The other 5% are those who just seem intent on invoking debate, causing controversy, whatever you want to call it. Stirring the bs soup is my fave.
Soo...either you can pack up and leave, which would suck, or you can just grin and bear it. If they meanies are picking on you this early, you must be good, cause they never picked on me much!
Please stay! So long as you're not Rose! ;-) |

I guess I will run into it soon enough. Please stick around. Don't let a a vocal minority drive you off.
Now go figure out HDR so you can whine and complain in the scores thread with the rest of us next week. |

| Haven't checked the lineup cards lately, but I think What's on Second, and everyone who's anyone is on DPC. Or at least from my view. |

Idiots, all of them (the ones that gave you a hard time, Carrie)
Think of it this way: the rest of us had to wait a little longer to find out were the jerks to avoid on this site. You got to learn quickly and can now ignore them.
I think that's a site suggestion -- give people the ability to block pm's from certain people. The poor girl shouldn't have to deal with those people any more.

What's with this place?!?! A new, excited to learn, enthusiastic user comes along and by unwittingly making a suggestion (one that many of the entrenched complainers make every other day), brings upon herself a torrent of abuse! No wonder this place is full of bitter twisted people if you drive away all the eager ones!
Caree, I welcome you and your attitude, we could do with a lot more like you and a lot less of those who chose to PM you with their "opinions". Stick around and just ignore the idiots, they clearly have nothing better to do with their time than engage in witch hunts! |
