Hi Everyone!

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the Fuji Finepix s1000fd back to its orginial settings? My settings are all screwed up and I cant figure it out and everything is come out black and messy... and its on all my settings.... something very strange...

There should be. It's probably in the settings menu.

Check the manual for exactly what the reset function actually resets.

Page 113 in the manual shows a RESET option which resets most options to the factory defaults.
You can find the PDF version of your manual here.

It's a bummer that your camera quit at party time. Two years is a long time to party anyway, no wonder your camera is whacked out : )
I hope that the reset fixes the problem. I had a Fuji A920 act up a couple of weeks ago, so I bought another A920 on eBay for $31 & shipping. I found out that the whole problem was two sets of weak batteries. It would turn on, and look normal until I pushed the shutter button to the focus stage, at which point it would just go black screen and stop working. Now I have a backup pocket cam. I hope that your glitch turns out to be something as simple as my problem was.

I tried new batteries... several sets... and bought a new pack just in case... Thank god I had another camera with me... the problem is several of the "important shots" were ruined... Thank goodness the other camera was waterproof so I got to surprize the customer with some wonderful waterfight shots... otherwise I would be in deep doo doo... I get a new cam on Tuesday... so if the reset doesnt fix ill live.. but i love my fuji for quick stuff :(

Thanks for letting us know that you have a working camera besides the 1000 FD. Upgrade is good. I like Fuji for the dynamic range and color that the "Super CCD" sensors can produce.
