I have not posted in quite some time, and figured there might be a few interested in my newest photos.

You gotta break out your James Taylor CDs, look for "Sweet Baby James"...

Adorable kiddie, and it's good to see you around these parts. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jamie,
I`ll admit I find it hard to critique picture of others peoples kids as it is so easy for the photographer/parent to get upset and take it as a bit of an attack on the actual kids themselves.. Now if you was showing us a paid portrait session that you shot of someone elses kids that would be easy to critique.

Having said that :) I will critique them like they are not your family/kids.

1. Grandma& GrandDaughter.. Looks soft, almost out of focus? the processing has washed any punch or snappiness out of the images. Not interesting to me in the slightest - more of a snapshot. EDIT - The spelling is WAY OUT on the actual photo text as well..

2. My Baby James. Again looks just like any of the other millions of beach snapshots out there. Shadow is falling over the little boys face. Looks soft/OOF. Nice composition though.. Processing is pretty average.

3. Baby James. OK, another snapshot.. Looks like you used on camera flash from quite close up. Lack of background makes this look like....sigh... another snapshot.

4 & 5. Probably the best of the bunch but thats because the exposure and the DOF is quite nice, it seperates the subject from the BG. Other than that.. snapshot.

Probably not what you wanted to hear but if you know me you will understand I will always try to be truthfully blunt. I know you probably look at them and adore them.. but try to imagine they were not pics of your own kids.. you would flick through them and say "boooorring". The others here who have said things like "Cute kid" etc.. are just skirting around the technicals.

Good to see you back though.

Note to self.. keep it sugar coated and fluffy next time.
