I recently entered a challenge with a total bomb. Thing was, I was too pleased with it personally because it was my daughter goofing off and the shot was so unlike her, that I wasn't able to see how it was considered so horrible. Showed it to the bf - who is usually quite helpful with his criticism - but this time all he could say was "there's nothing good about it". Sigh. So when someone took the time to tell me what was wrong with it, I was delighted. I also found out from his comment that what I was seeing on my monitor wasn't what the rest of the world was seeing. The background looked solid black to me, but it wasn't and, after it was pointed out, I was able to check it out on another computer and see what he saw. Yes, he got a pm from me - thanking him. So for those of you who have been pm'd by crabby people, just remember those of us who need help and appreciate it :) Thanks!
