Photograph a church from any religion and show its beauty, grandeur or simplicity.
We've had a "Holy Places" challenge but no "Churches" challenge.

"Pew."
Just kidding, of course! I think this would be a really interesting challenge. In my area, there are a number of remaining churches that were among the first permanent structures built here. |

that would be a cool challenge, but have the inside of the church depicted too, cos some churches are in strip malls, village halls etc! |

Interior or exterior, they would all count. |

This thread reminded me that last year I did my SoFoBoMo project on Churches of Temescal (those in my neighborhood). See this thread for more information -- I encourage you to sign up.... |

We got lots of churches on the Cape :-) This would be a fun challenge. We don't have any of the grand, monumental type, but plenty of nice, old wooden churches.

Thanks for the reminder Wendy. Tintern Abbey is a short 30 mins away from me and would, indeed, be wonderful for this challenge. Plenty of other cool churches around here as well. :) |

Just come back from Yorkshire and all the shots I took of York Minster would have fitted this challenge idea to a 'tee', but of course, right place, wrong time:) |

I would have, but we were on a coach tour holiday and didn't know the itinery until we got to the hotel, and they didn't have wi-fi either! I took the netbook to download photos and had to sit in a hotel room without access to DPC:( But, we had a great tour around the Dales, Scarborough, Whitby, York, Flamborough Head etc. We stayed in Bridlington, a seaside town of two halves, North side a holidaymakers haven with amusement arcades etc and the south side, wide open beaches and dunes with a super harbour. Loved it up there, so clean and tidy and the people were great. I will return to t'North soon I think:) |

Near me over in KY is the smallest church in the world. I think we have one that has the largest stained glass window in the world to. hhahah. I would like it to be just the outside though to make it more about the outside architecture.

"Its" is spelled wrong in the description. Everything's going to hell. |

Here at the Dream Center we have this really old catholic chapel built in the 40's that is never used anymore. Should make for an interesting subject.
