I have found Chanel Mixer very useful to work with B&W pictures.
How do you like this photo?
This is my out take from October Free Study, I submitted a landscape which doesn't do well. |

Taken outside on a white cardboard in a full sun in October.
Exposure :
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/100
Av( Aperture Value )10
Metering Mode Evaluative
ISO Speed 100
Lens 28.0 - 135.0mm
Focal Length 135.0mm
White Balance Daylight
Precessing by adjusting:
Levels
Saturation (minus 100)
Brightens
Contrast
Fine tuning with Chanel Mixer
A similar technique was used for my entry for Night Shot II.

Now that you found out about the channel mixer, go hereand download digidaan's loads for the channel mixer, you'll love them.
