I remember getting a link from here quite awhile back (maybe 7-8 months ago) to a photographer that someone really enjoyed. All of his photographs were extremely high key. Although they were nearly entirely white, they were very attractive photographs and the lines/etc created by the black were great. I can't seem to remember who this person was though, and was hoping (by some slim chance) that someone may have an idea (or if you want to link any other photographers that you like, feel free). I'm thinking of buying a couple large prints (affordable, though) for my apartment and am trying to look around.

Thanks :)

Does this photo ring a bell?

Thanks, but that's not quite it - although I actually do like that one. But, the link/photographer I saw wasn't related to DPC - it was in a thread on favorite photographers that I can't seem to find at the moment. He (it was a guy, I remember that much) did mostly landscapes, if that helps at all.

Are you thinking high key or IR for landscapes?
How about Bjorn Rorslett?
Bill Agee?
MaryEllen Malinowski?

I suppose there is a chance that it was Infrared, although it's none of those that you posted. They all looked very elegant and natural, which is why I guess it never crossed my mind that they might be IR shots. It was all black-and-white work, however. Thanks for the photographer links, though.

Also, good pics goodman. Yours has an interesting look to it, as does Imagineer's. Thanks for the pics.

Also, if it helps any - the shots were very simplistic... there wasn't much detail in most of them (which is why I thought they were mostly just high key work), other than some outlines and shapes (from what I recall).

One of my favorite photographers who tends to be high key is Brian Kosoff . . . ?

Brian Kosoff!

that was it, thanks dsidwell :). Must've been you who linked it way back when in the first place - glad you saw this thread. EpicLight is also fantastic - thanks moodville!

It looks like both of these guys are outta my narrow college-student price-range, but it's still great to have the URLs for my viewing pleasure - and who knows, maybe if i make a lot of money, i'll buy some! thanks everyone for checking and trying to help me out - i'm glad all you dpc'ers were able to help me. :D

also, out of curiosity - does anyone happen to know how they produce effects such as these? obviously, they have a great amount of knowledge, skill and experience.. but is there a specific type of post-processing, or filtering, etc that they use?

is there a name for this specific look, or is it generally just b/w with a tendency towards high key?
