I've just purchased colorvision's spyderpro and collaborated my monitor (yesterday) - I just printed and the photo came out with a pink tint - I'm using Epson's colorlife photo paper. I messed with the settings as I thought I should use the new profiles and now the photos look terrible, whereas before - collaborating and messing around with the print settings the printouts were just a little of color wise.

did you download the colorlife profile from Epson's web site?

It is really hard to say what the problem is at this point but if you were to un-install the 1280 drivers and install them again from scratch, you might gain the upper hand on the problem.

What color space are you using?
Are you soft-proofing?

I feel sort of foolish myself, just last night figuring out how to use the provided profiles for my 2200...

This link MAY apply to the 1280 as well:

My problem is that I was choosing the correct color space in Photoshop's print dialogue, but then choosing "Color Controls" from the print driver. As soon as I relied ONLY on the Epson-provided profile, my prints were absolutely beautiful.

Hopefully that will help.

This is what I was going to suggest. The most common problem with using color profiles is applying them twice, in both Photoshop and the printer driver. Choose one (probably Photoshop) and make sure the other is set to NOT convert to the printer color space. It is rather confusing!
