Thanks! Y'know... for all the effort I put into these things, that just would have been too easy. The shot was taken about 80 feet from my mailbox. LOL |

Skiprow & Scalvert: I have run out of words for the day, but just know that those are beyond awesome.

I had thought about these 3.
My actual submission is nothing like any of these. I hope I went with the right one. It started out at 6.66 and has dropped to 5.58 overnight.

My actual entry is bombing. Not sure the others would've done better though. |

I never really seriously considered entering this because it isn't as good a focus as I had hoped. I was trying to get some good photographs of fall colors and a waterfall, but the waterfall was disappointing and we just don't have enough fall colors this far south in Alabama yet. I was photographing some fall leaves in the water when I saw this little fellow. Last year I would have turned and ran -- this year I stopped and photographed! Oh how a camera does change one's life!

That's my actual best shot from October. It likely would have scored better than what I submitted, but I thought I would learn less from comments like "another flower?" or "nice shot".
Instead, I submitted in an area of photography that I'm especially weak in. I'm scoring OK, but I submitted it to get comments, and there's only 2 so far, with most of the week to go.

I think this one would have done better than my entry:

I would have posted this one, but I ended up drawing in the very last curve of the exhaust as it got clipped off, so that unfortunately made it illegal to enter :(
Shame, as this is my personal favouritest photo ever I have taken.

I thought about entering one of these:

I shot my single most beautiful photo in October that I could not enter. Why? It was shot on Kodak B&W 400 film using a Canon EOS Rebel A-1 camera. I was heartbroken.
Surprisingly, all the film shots came out better than the digital ones. I'll post the shot later since it'll completely give me away.

Here are my selection of October Free Study possible submissions. Sadly I neglected to submit anything since work took too much of my attention. I'd love to know what you guys think of these, though.

I took these on the 3rd and it was hard for me to not choose one of them, but then I got an awesome shot on the 2(7th?) and I decided to replace it. They go from my favorite to least favorite.

I also had trouble choosing, mainly between the color and b/w first two. Had another couple of choices, but went for a different one.
And one totally different

I think these are my 3 favourite photos I took in October...instead, I entered one that I like a little less but thought it would fare better with the crowd. It's sitting at 4.8114 or something like that! Oh well...

I second this sentiment. Gravitated immediately to the thumbnail, and the click confirmed it! Really special shot.

Now if I show my "outtake" photo, y'all would know which photo I did enter. Where's the fun in that? :)

My Outtakes
I'm thinking any one of these would have done better.
