this can be rather interesting www.globexplorer.com. you plug in your address, and it shows you a satellite photo of your home (well, maybe, depending on how new your home is...).

if anybody knows of similar sites, could you post them here?

Is this US only? Hardly exploring the globe, if so.

the data here is kind of random as far as when the image was captured.

It's the world. Just don't put in your postcode and it works.

Gives me an error.

I've always liked //www.upmystreet.co.uk for postcode based info like aerial views, etc.
